This pilgrimage march, as every year, was dedicated to the commemoration of Freedom Day - August 31, 1993, when the last Soviet soldier left Lithuania.

We visited Kelmė, Šiauliai, Tytuvėnai, and Šiluva. During the pilgrimage, the faithful were introduced to traditional Latin chanting, which is rarely heard today. The beauty of the Latin tradition is an essential element that opposes the anti-Catholic revolution.

We prayed for your intentions. We also met with bishops and supported them in their difficult struggle against the forces of evil. We ask you to pray for our and their intentions.

On August 30, 2025, at Sukilėlių kalnelis (Rebels' Hill) in Šiauliai, a solemn gathering took place, bringing together the city community and members of the international Catholic organization "Tradition, Family, Property" (TFP).

35 years of Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira and the TFP – "Tradition-Family-Property" organization's activities for the benefit of free Lithuania!

To the music of the Šiauliai brass orchestra, the event began with a patriotic hymn. The event continued with heartfelt words and memories shared by guests from abroad and the Bishop Emeritus of Šiauliai, Eugenijus Bartulis. "We look to Christ, who gave his life for us all, so that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. So looking at the cross of Christ, we also look and think about Paberžė, Father Stanislovas, that faithful son of our Lithuania. And in the Paberžė cemetery is the inscription: 'Crucified and exiled Lithuania, through the cross you will survive alive.' Thank you all. May God bless you!", said E. Bartulis.

After the official part, participants joined the traditional Thanksgiving and Hope march. Carrying the Lithuanian Republic and historical flags, singing hymns, they solemnly traveled to the Holy Mass at the Cathedral of Sts. Apostles Peter and Paul.

On August 29, we were at Kelmė Church, and afterwards we went to the local cemetery.

Every year on the last Sunday of August (30th), a traditional procession of thanksgiving for freedom is held from Tytuvėnai to Šiluva. Dating back to 1973 as resistance to Soviet efforts to destroy the spiritual fervor of the faithful, this procession was revived again after Lithuania regained independence. Since then, the international organization TFP (Tradition. Family. Property), which helped Lithuania on its path of struggle for freedom, has participated in the procession every year. This year too, the spirit of the TFP organization accompanied the walkers – their statue of Our Lady of Fatima was carried along.

Aleksandras Stralcou
