Abortion is a Result of Egoism, Not Ignorance!

Often, pro-life advocates content themselves with offering a 'positive alternative.' They don't say that abortion is murder, but rather ask the criminal to voluntarily agree not to kill. It seems that such a mindset is wrong.

Agitating for life, not against death, is logically absurd. Every normal person should be for life. Why don't we do it?

The answer is simple, but most people are afraid to say it. Egoism! Women and men (men too, even if they say nothing) decide on abortion not because they don't know it's murder.

Perhaps they don't want to use such words, but they certainly know that new life will not appear in this world, that a new human being, a girl or a boy, will not be born. I think everyone understands that abortion ends with new life not coming into being, which means the death of that human being.

The problem is not that people don't understand what abortion is. The problem is that they don't understand what original sin is, which affects every human being. Because of this sin, every person has a corrupted nature. They are more inclined to evil than to good. If they do not cooperate with grace, i.e., if they are not baptized, do not practice their faith, etc., this inclination to evil grows and becomes stronger. Man is not good by nature. It must be said that man is evil by nature.

And if they are evil by nature, it's no wonder they are selfish. Abortion stems from egoism. Why do I (we) need this child? It interferes with our plans, limits our career, takes our money, threatens my health (woman), etc. All these aspects are reasons for abortion, not some 'lack of awareness' about whether it's an embryo or a human. Here everything is simple: every human being, while remaining human, was once an embryo. By destroying the embryo, you kill a human being!

Since 1990, i.e., after regaining independence, Lithuania has lost about 520,000 people – its potential fellow citizens! That's a terrifying indicator of the scale of degradation of Lithuanian society.

A similar mechanism operates in euthanasia. Why do I need this old person? I have no way to take care of them. They require too much; neither I nor anyone else has time for them. Better they die and not bother us. Or the sooner they die, the sooner we can divide their property. That's the bitter truth about euthanasia.

In both cases, people thinking this way forget that they too were or will be in a similar situation. Here again we deal with extreme absurdity, blindness to one's own possible fate.

To prevent this, the Church in its heyday always demanded that the state establish strict requirements limiting such behavior and helping people avoid falling into the traps of evil.

To some extent, this works today. After all, we don't wonder that the state punishes murder. Why shouldn't it do the same in the case of so-called 'abortion,' since it's also killing a human being a few weeks before birth? Why shouldn't it ban euthanasia instead of excusing it as 'consent to suicide'?

These 'rights' cannot be justified by any classical or natural law. This 'right' is simply the demand of a selfish plebeian mob. It is the 'law' of barbarians.

If we, as a country with a several-hundred-year Christian history, now find ourselves in such a state, then we have a problem! Then it's no wonder war threatens us. Punishment should come upon us, and if we do not repent, such punishment will be just for us.
